Once upon a festival...

What is it?

Lightning in a Bottle: A Festival Story is a feature film documentary about the 2016 festival, of the same name (LIB) that happens yearly in the California hill country, far away from civilization.

Whether you've been to a festival or not, our film is a transportive immersion into the colorful, euphoric, exhausting, weird and loving bliss of LIB, from the vantage point of 20 diverse millennials.

Why Now?

In 2020 LIB was cancelled for the first time in its 17 year history, along with most of life as we once knew it. Amidst isolation and quarantine, filmmaker John Handem Piette rediscovered hours of festival footage he and his friends had shot at LIB 2016.

After 1 long-ass year and 19 FaceTime calls later, getting deep, vulnerable and introspective with each of the campers...LIB: A Festival Story was born.

When and where can I see it?

So, the film is almost complete, we just need your help getting over the finish line! Our IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign begins Friday, April 15th, and we'd love and be forever grateful for your $upport! We sent out our rough cut earlier this year and have already started to garner attention from festivals worldwide.  Check out our brand new Official Trailer!
